Content marketing playbook: turning blog posts into pipeline

Content marketing only generates pipeline when every post is built around a buying-intent topic and connected to a clear next step. Writing about industry trends without a path to revenue is publishing, not marketing.

Start by mapping the top 30 questions your best customers ask before they buy. Each of those is a blog post. Group them into three buckets: top of funnel (problem-aware), middle of funnel (solution-aware) and bottom of funnel (vendor-aware). Write the bottom-of-funnel posts first — comparisons, pricing guides, alternatives — because they convert fastest.

Every post needs three things to drive pipeline: a clear primary call to action, an inline lead magnet relevant to the topic, and internal links to your service page. Distribute every post via LinkedIn, email and (where it fits) one short-form video.

Measure leads and revenue per post, not page views. After 90 days, double down on the topics that convert and retire the ones that do not. Content marketing is compounding — the discipline of measurement is what compounds it.
